Located out on the gorgeous North Fork of Long Island, Jamesport Vineyards has become a staple of the Long Island wine community for many reasons.
This vineyard isn’t just one of the largest wine producers of the region, it’s also home to a stunning restaurant and huge tasting room that is housed in a 165-year-old barn, and is one of the North Fork’s oldest vineyards.
Jamesport started as a father-son collaboration in 1981 by Ron Goerler, Sr. and has since grown to include three generations of Goerlers, who take their jobs very seriously. The vineyard applies a very sustainable and eco-friendly approach to winemaking, always considering the environmental effects of their work, as well as the social impacts their land preservation may have.
“Being one of the first wineries to open on the East End, and winning awards for the last 30 years, it’s been amazing to see our region take a place on the world stage,” says the owner, Ron Goerler, Jr.
The vineyard offers three different collections of wines: East End, Estate, and Reserve. The East End Wines are meant to reflect the beautiful maritime climate of the East End, the Estate collection is the flagship wine collection which comes from some of the oldest vines they have, and the Reserves are the world-class blended wines that are aged in French oak barrels.

Visiting the Jamesport Vineyard is a full experience beyond just the wine. The Tasting Barn offers a traditional wine tasting experience of a flight of five of their incredible wines, while the Cellar Experience provides an opportunity to access the Jamesport Cellars plus a full culinary and wine experience with their expert team.
You can even stay the night at Jamesport in one of their absolutely stunning rooms, each of which has been built out to reflect the unique aspects of their land in the North Fork. While you stay, you can enjoy a fantastic meal in their little oak restaurant, which is home to their famous wood-fired oven pizzas. Between the dedicated culinary staff and the luxurious accommodations, “you won’t even know you’re on Long Island anymore,” says Goerler, Jr.
