Okay, and now for the wine suggestions.
White
Trebbiano: Rich and refreshing, which is everything you want for Thanksgiving. It’ll pair well with the turkey without overpowering everything else.
South African Sauvignon Blanc: Sauvignon Blanc is going to be a good choice for this meal, no matter what, but one from South Africa will be a little more herbaceous and bright. Just what you’ll need after a pile of buttery mashed potatoes.
Finger Lakes Riesling: Just sweet enough to cut through the fat and butter of this meal, but not so much that you’ll feel like you’re drinking dessert. Chill it a bit first to provide even more refreshment.
Red
California Zinfandel: Zins have lovely fruity palates so they’ll be a nice pair with things like your cranberry sauce, but make sure the alcohol content isn’t super high. That much buzz will make your tongue go crazy which is the last thing you need.
Garnacha: Medium- bodied so it won’t take over the table, but enough fruit and citrus to make a statement on a very busy table. There’s a little earthiness to it as well, which will be a lovely undercurrent to everything on your plate.
