We’re all going on a couple weeks of isolation and quarantine, and if you’re like us, you’re probably looking for ways to get creative. Have you started bench pressing your dog? Making sandwiches out of the weirdest ingredients in the pantry? Don’t worry, no judgment.
Even your happy hour (or lunch hour because #airportrules) deserves a creative spin and we’re here to help. Here’s a fun list of beverages that are simple and only have a few ingredients, most of which are probably in your fridge or bar as we speak!
Ruby Red Spritz: We’re headed into springtime so there are probably plenty of you who are wishing they were on a patio sipping an Aperol spritz. While we can’t necessarily deliver you one of those, here’s a fun twist! Turn on all your lamps, open the windows, put on your cutest spring outfit, and get sipping on this tasty beverage!

Citrus Sangria: There’s never a bad time for sangria but this is an especially great time to be upping your citrus intake. If you have half-full bottles of wine, citrus that needs to get used, and random fruit that is getting soft, dump it all in a pitcher, let it rest, and boom! Delicious sangria to have while you work from home…uh, or after.

Elderberry Cocktail: If you’re not into the holistic and naturopathic remedies, you may not know about elderberry syrup and its healing properties. Elderberries are a great source of vitamin C and antioxidants, and have shown to be anti-inflammatory as well. The even better news is it tastes really yummy. It’s not much different than adding any kind of fruit syrup to a cocktail except you’re also doing your body a favor (this is not medical advice, just information) which makes the whole cocktail taste even better.

Wine Slushy: You probably have a freezer full of stuff right now, and hopefully some of it is fruit. Maybe you got a little two much and aren’t sure what to do with it now, or it’s “Friday” and you’re ready for that happy hour drink. This keeps it pretty simple: frozen fruit, ice, and wine. If you don’t have Chardonnay on hand, sub out for whatever white wine has been left behind in your fridge. Same goes for the fruit- just use whatever you’ve got around! There’s no wrong answer here.
