It’s the end of the year and the end of the decade. Crazy, right? That means the celebration should be bigger, bolder, and more enthusiastic! Whether you’re spending December 31st nestled in a cozy blanket by the fireside, ringing it in on a beach in a tropical location, or you’re getting sparkly and dancing the night away, the night deserves the best of the bubbly.
Looking for something rich in flavor but not rich enough to empty your wallet it on it? Try the Sofia Blanc de Blancs from Francis Ford Coppola Winery. It sounds fancy because it’s a Coppola but it’s only going to set you back about 20 bucks! The bottle is cute and the wine inside is a really fun blend of Pinot Blanc, Muscat, and Riesling which will be light and sweet.
Okay, maybe you’re a real high roller and want to impress your friends. Try any vintage from 2006-2008 of the Schramsberg J.Schram sparkling wine. It’s from the North Coast of California and is reserve-style which is wine language for chic and elegant.
House Wine makes a lovely canned sparkling rosé which is always a crowd-pleaser, plus it’s portable for those of you using public transportation. Or there’s this awesome sparkling rosé from Stellenbosch, South Africa (a truly amazing wine region) if you want something in a bottle.
If you want to show up with true Champagne in hand, you know the rule: to be Champagne, it must come from Champagne. Laurent-Perrier is top-notch, with a whole variety of price ranges, although none of them are what you might call “cheap.” However, it will be the star of the party, no matter which one you choose.
Go exotic with this affordable Cava from Catalonia, a fruity and refreshing bubbler that will keep you dancing all night long. And of course, we can’t forget Cava’s Italian cousin, the Prosecco. Nino Franco has a lovely selection of Brut and Dry Proseccos, all within totally reasonable prices. These are great to have as a sipping beverage throughout the night since they’ll be lower on the sweetness but high on deliciousness!
However you choose to bring in 2020, we wish you a Happy New Year and look forward to seeing you and your friends at our upcoming events!
