Although they purchased their land in 2003, Harry and Carole Robibero didn’t truly begin their winemaking journey until 2007 when the previous vineyard vacated the space. They spent the following years making renovations and planting three full acres of grape vines to create the Hudson Valley establishment it is today.
Robibero Family Vineyards isn’t a large winery but it’s one that is dedicated to the art and craft of winemaking, which is quite clear in their gorgeous wines. They produce about 4,000 cases of wine each year that are sold in their own tasting room and small, local wineries as well as online.
They grow both Cabernet Franc and Vidal Blanc but their wines sometimes include the grapes of other local wineries to create gorgeous blends like their Rabbit’s Foot, a blend of Baco Noir and Pinot Noir. It’s the mission of the Robibero family to only produce wines that are distinctive of their particular terroir, especially since the climate and soils of the Hudson Valley are so uniquely beautiful and lead to some fabulous wines.
Winemaker Kristop Brown is very well known in the Hudson Valley for his winemaking talents. He began his career down the road at Benmarl Winery before going across the country to learn in the great vineyards of Washington state. He came back to New York in 2011 to lead the production at Robibero where he has made a name for himself as one of the region’s top winemakers.
The 42- acre land at Robibero Winery hosts a spectacular tasting room that’s open all year round and is perfect for a lovely day in the Hudson Valley. Spread out on the lawn for a picnic or enjoy one of their wood-fired pizzas before taking a tour through their wine cellars. Make sure you bring your well-behaved dog to hang out with you when you come to celebrate any of their major holiday events throughout the year!
