With 7 decades and 3 generations of grape-growing experience, they produce some of the Finger Lakes’ most award-winning wines. Third-generation winemaker Ben Stamp joins us to taste four selections that give a good idea of what Finger Lakes wines are all about. From sweet to dry, red to sparkling white, there’s a Lakewood Vineyards wine to satisfy every palate and celebrate any occasion.

Finger Lakes Grapes

  • In 1951, the Stamp family moved to Lakewood Farm, a run-down peach and apple orchard on the west side of Seneca Lake.
  • The vineyard’s first grapes were sold to Welch’s Grape Juice Company in 1955
  • Today, the vineyard crew practices careful management of the vines and land.

High Quality Wines

  • Lakewood Vineyards Winery opened to the public in June 1989 made from estate-grown grapes from their 45 acres.
  • The team focuses on sustainable practices, including composting, mulching and use of cover crops.
  • They pride themselves on offering Finger Lakes wines of exceptional quality and value.

Meet Ben Stamp

  • Ben was 3 weeks old when Lakewood Vineyards opened its doors to the public in 1989. He slept through the whole thing.
  • After graduating from Cornell with his degree in enology, Ben travelled extensively and worked 5 harvests in other areas.
  • Ben now works alongside his family at Lakewood as a Vintner.
